Privacy Collection Notice for Website

COUNCIL OF L J HOOKER FRANCHISE OWNERS INCORPORATED

In order to comply with our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (“the Privacy Act”), we need to let you know that, we, Council of LJ Hooker Franchise Owners Incorporated (Registered Association Incorporation Number Y1046644) trading as "LJ Hooker Franchise Owners Council" and our associated companies, require your personal information, including your name, date of birth, address, email address and phone number. We need such personal information in order to respond to your query, progress your application for membership, nomination or election to the Council, or provide you with information and third party offers, depending on what you are asking us to do.

Without such personal information, we may be unable to respond to your query, provide you with information and offers, or progress your application.

We may disclose your personal information to the following types of organisations: third party suppliers; customer service, marketing, telemarketing, market research or sales organisations; billing and debt-recovery providers; information technology and/or website usage analysis organisations; your or our authorised representatives or legal or other professional advisers; credit-reporting and fraud-checking agencies; credit providers; government and regulatory authorities and other organisations as required or authorised by law; organisations who manage our business strategies, risk and funding functions; police or similar authorities (if we have concerns of possible illegal activity or harm).

We may also add your details to our database to send you any newsletters, offers, educative or marketing materials and other information from time to time. At any time, you may advise us that you no longer wish to receive such material from us, in which case we will stop sending such material to you.

We do not actively disclose your personal information overseas.  However, we may use programs, software, online tools, or Social Media Sites that may be based in and/or housed overseas. Our use of such products may involve disclosure of your personal information to such organisations overseas.  Use and disclosure of your personal information by such overseas organisations shall be in accordance with the terms and conditions and privacy policies of such organisations.

If you consent to disclosure of your personal information as described above, we are not required to take reasonable steps to ensure that such organisations do not breach the APPs in relation to the disclosed information, we will not be liable under the Privacy Act and you will not be able to seek redress under the Privacy Act. The overseas organisation may not be subject to privacy obligations in their own country that are similar to the Australian Privacy Principals, so you may not be able to seek redress in the overseas jurisdiction and the overseas recipient could be subject to foreign laws that compel disclosure to third parties, such as overseas authorities.  Having been informed of the possibility that such disclosures may occur, you consent to that disclosure by undertaking the type/s of activities specified above which indicate your consent.

Our privacy policy contains information about how you may access the personal information that we hold about you and how to seek correction of such information if necessary.

Our privacy policy also contains information about how you may complain about an alleged breach of the Australian Privacy Principles, and how we will deal with such a complaint.
